Cities are flooded with visual and sound pollution. Housing is now a costly commodity, an investment for the richest. Public space no longer serves the residents, but tourism, cars and big capital. How to reclaim the city?
Vladimír Turner, an artist who actively intervenes in public space, has made a film presenting possible answers. It follows artistic events and performances in Prague that symbolically transform the surroundings and allow people to reclaim space.
"Guerrilla artists are storming the streets to awaken society and show that cities belong to the people. ...art is not just decoration but a powerful tool of resistance against an over-technologized and alienated world." - filmcenter.cz
